To change the window frames on the exterior of the building from a solid blue colour to a more traditional looking white.
The client wanted to completely modernise the building which looked old and wasn’t on brand for the company..
An Architectural Wrapping solution was selected for this project following a consultation with the client.
HG Surface have helped Hendy Chandlers Ford transform their exterior window frames from blue to white thanks to the teams Architectural Wrapping services.
The challenge HG Surface came up against with this particular project was that the owners of the company were ultimately not happy with their in-situ window frames, and really wanted to change them to a white, which was more modern and in keeping with the brand. The client wasn’t exactly sure about how to go about this but after reaching out to team HG, they were quickly sold by the prospect of wrapping the window frames.
‘’Following an initial consultation with the client it was very apparent that they were looking for a traditional white pvc window frame aesthetic for their exterior window frames. However, it was also clear that ripping out the existing window frames and replacing them with new ones wasn’t something they wanted to do due to asbestos in the building, and they really didn’t want to disturb it. Once we presented the concept of wrapping the frames, they were blown away, and immediately on board with the idea.’’ Said Lauren Siddons, Director of HG Surface.
Lauren continued: ‘’Although this was one of our first full window frame refurbishment projects, we had full confidence that our team could manage this project from start to finish, including pulling off the installation itself.’’
The project itself was completed swiftly despite the tricky nature of applying film to window frames. What made things easier was the utilisation of lifting equipment and that fact many of the windows opened out which allowed the HG team to remove the frames, making the installation ever so easier. As mentioned, this was one of HG’s first window frame installations, but the installation itself really couldn’t have gone any better.

Lauren added: ‘’The results were everything we could have hoped for and more. The transformation alongside the other contractors and their update to the building complemented each other so well. You could be forgiven for thinking it was a completely new building. The clients were so impressed with the transformation and how the wrap mimicked new PVC windows, with a paint like finish.’’

This project encapsulates the usage of Architectural Wrapping perfectly. With film there really is no limit in terms of the application as demonstrated here. Despite window frames not being completely flat, this doesn’t stop you refreshing them to a colour of your choice, with an extensive solid colour range, and colour matching also available, any design requirements or brand guidelines can be met. Without incurring the cost of a rip out and replace method.
