When revamping surfaces within the retail environment, there is a multitude of factors that you need to consider. For this particular project, we were tasked with rolling a refurbishment of 14 Swarovski stores in the UK & Ireland, helping the brand with their latest ‘lab grown diamond’ promotion they were about to rollout.
The overall synopsis of this project was that Swarovski required the internal units in their 14 stores to be transformed for their original colour to white, making them in line with the lab grown diamond promo. On face value, the applications were relatively straight forward, with the main challenge being trying to coordinate all the projects that were going on.
‘’It’s safe to say that our project management skills were tested on this project for Swarovski. With a tight deadline of 6 weeks to complete we had to systematically plan out the works with our installers to ensure that we met the expectations our clients had.’’ Said Lauren Siddons, Director of HG Surface.
Lauren continued, ‘’Not only was the coordination of getting the installs done a challenge, but there were also a number of other key considerations that we had to take into account. We had to ensure we had the permits for works in shopping centres, which also required additional insurance to cover the liability within these centres. On top of this, we had to conduct a lot of the installs out of hours.’’
Throughout the duration of the project, the HG Surface team worked really closely with Marc Kahlaf, the project manager from Swarovski themselves to ensure this project was completed as smoothly as possible. Although one of the benefits of architectural wrapping is the seamless application, the majority of these works were completed out of hours to have as minimal impact as possible on the day-to-day operations of the stores. In just 6 weeks, the installations across the 14 locations were complete, and the Swarovski stores were promo ready.
